THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOS The Summer of 2015 was a great one for fireworks displays in and around the New York City area. There were several private fireworks shows leading up to the traditional July 4th celebration sponsored by Macy's. The images in this collection spanned a two week period leading up to Independence Day. All had their challenges - from crowded viewing areas to late start times to huge man-eating mosquitoes - even threatened arrest for trespassing by the New Jersey Port Authority police. But hey - gotta get the shot right? Can't wait for next year!
