THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOS
So some people believe that the pre-historic Stonehenge Monument in England is actually a sort of calendar which tracks time/seasons by marking the sun's movement thru the stone pillars that make up the Monument. Because we have nothing better to do, a bunch of New Yorkers decided that when the sun aligns with certain streets (in this case 42nd Street), a similar event of celestial significance occurs. Enter "Manhattanhenge". In reality, its just an excuse for everyone to crowd around the pedestrian bridges that cross 42nd St. and yell and scream and wave their iphones for 20 mins as the sun sets that day.
