THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOS Watch my YouTube
video about these photos.
Scenic Speedwell Lake sits just outside historic Morristown, NJ. This year the Fall colors surrounding the Lake exploded into a full-blown blaze of yellow, orange and red. The Lake itself is named after the community of Speedwell which was once home to the Speedwell Ironworks (builder of the S.S. Savannah---the first steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean) and which is also the birthplace of the telegraph.
This collection could also be entitled "The Lake That Almost Ate My Cell Phone." While shooting I dropped my cell phone in the Lake (luckily it wasn't my very expensive DSLR camera.) Happily I was able to revive my phone the next day and it's worked fine ever since. Email me if you want to know how I saved my phone.
